    There’s a lot of exemptions. You’ll be able to get the tire you want. This is simply for replacement tires

        Here is the list of exemptions. If you can’t find an exemption then you don’t care about what tire you’re buying.

        The point of this program is to target the people that don’t care and make sure they get a tire that is just as energy efficient as OE.

        • Competition tires designed for motorsports
        • Winter-type snow tires
        • All-season winter performance tires
        • Used and retreaded tires
        • Deep tread tires
        • Tires designed for ATVs and other off-road vehicles
        • Large off-road tires for use up to 99 mph
        • Motorcycle tires
        • Temporary-use spare tires
        • Small tires with ≤13-inch nominal rim diameter
        • Limited production tires (<15,000 per year)
        • Tires sold for use on an emergency vehicle
        • High load index tires (122 or greater)
        • Tires not capable of sustaining speeds over 50 mph
        • Space saver tires

          So basically every single all-season tire or summer tire for economy vehicles is not exempted. Awesome! /s
          Everyone who drives an SUV or sedan and wants to buy better tires will need to get tires like the OE.
          But what do I know, I’ve only worked in the tire industry for the last 10 years.
