I don’t want to spend any money in buying Seedbox subscription or VPN to bypass CGNAT , or another Hard disk for extra storage space. My internet speed is 100Mbps and at best I can dedicate 200GB of my SSD cumulatively for Private Trackers.
I need Private trackers for my occasional( like 1-2 files a month of each category ) in requirements of movies, software, books, music, expensive educational courses.
Currently I have joined MAM (3 weeks back) and its so easy to maintain ratio and become VIP( next week I will) and maintain it with so less consumption of my SSD space.( I will keep seeding enough files just to maintain VIP and get enough bonus points to fulfill my occasional needs)
Which other Private trackers should I join keeping in mind the above constraints?
I don’t know of any private trackers who are interested in users in your particular circumstances. The reality is, you can’t really seed behind CGNAT. I would really consider shelling out for a VPN, you can get an okay one for 5-10 euro a month. If you’re technically inclined, you could even set your own up on a cheap VPS for less, given you don’t need fast networking.
It seems VPN is inevitable.
Your comment gave me clarity. Thanks
Is IPv6 torrenting not a thing?
It is, but doesn’t really play well with PTs in general. Not all trackers support it (some of the software is that old), and even when it works I’ve run into unexpected issues.
I would like it if there was increased adoption.
If you pay 10€ per month for a VPN, cancel and switch to something better. E.g. njalla always costs 5€/m with port forwarding.
People don’t use VPN to bypass CGNAT, they use it to protect their IP address. The 'ol saying “Don’t shit where you eat” applies. Probably worth looking into depending on location.
If you’re on a private tracker with CGNAT you need to use a VPN to be able to port forward. Without port forwarding many will ban you.
Have you tried using IPv6? ISPs that know what they’re doing usually have native IPv6 in addition to CGNAT. (although, to that point, ISPs that know what they’re doing usually use technologies other than CGNAT).
To maintain a ratio, you need inbound connections, which you can’t get at all over CGNAT. I know you don’t want to use a VPN but honestly the best solution is to use a VPN that supports port forwarding, like AirVPN.
I did try IPv6 in MAM , and it says Unconnectable with yellow circle emoji. It seems I did not set it up properly or there is some other reason Since , inbound connections does not matter much on MAM as it gives bonus just for keeping it as seeding, so it does not matter much to me
However, It seems for other trackers, Real Upload ratio will be hard to maintain without a VPN or a Seedbox even if I download files at very low frequency as explained in the post. Am I right ??
Yeah you’ll need some way to allow incoming connections to seed and maintain a ratio. You could look on the LowEndTalk forum for a seedbox at a good price, or use a VPN like AirVPN. The VPN must support port forwarding.
