I also just got a warning, lol. Fuck them, I really need to come here more often :-/
Gravitated back to Reddit due to lacking content unfortunately…
I wonder how Nintendo is feeling about their IP being moderated like that.
What’s wild to me is apparently an endless supply of people are willing to work for free for Reddit as a moderator
Reddit really hates Mario’s brother. What did Luigi do to your wife, spez? Mammamia that’s an abomination
So, when your account is banned on Reddit, does that remove all your posts? Because that would be cool. I left Reddit back in mid 2023 and came to Lemmy. I tried to delete all my old posts there, but they wouldn’t let me. I tried editing them and they reverted back to their original form. When I deleted them, they appeared to be deleted while I was logged in, but if I logged into another account the posts were still there. If getting a ban will get them deleted finally, then that would be well worth paying that cesspool a visit for a while.
Most of the time, if I say “Luigi” I’m actually talking about the character. Mario’s brother. The lil green plumber. Not the real life guy.
I’m not sure what’s gonna happen to discussion about Nintendo games but if first names themselves can be banned from being said (even if they take on a new meaning due to slang) there’s something seriously wrong with the platform.
Yeah, I got a notice and I don’t even know what for as I have never spoken of Luigi. My best guess is that I responded to a poster talking about the inevitability of the USA rolling into Canada and taking everything and there’s nothing we can do to stop it. I wrote back that Trump isn’t getting anything and that I will die to protect my country. Boom, warning email from Reddit. Fuck them.
MAMMA MIA!!
Just woke up to my account being suspended for suspicious activity after getting a warning.
Is there a particular subreddit that is spiteful towards the word Luigi? I’m going to try saying Loo-E-G and see what happens. Perhaps the bots won’t recognize the phonic resemblance.
I got banned for talking about Luigi too much.
Chuck Mangione’s brother Luigi?
Green hat Ghostbuster house
Luckily only one person in the world is named Luigi.
Yoooo Nintendo should sue. Reddit is publicly traded.
That’s a great point. Even if it’s used as a verb, it could mean throwing a banana peel behind you while driving.
Everyone named Luigi should sue for discrimination
Italians are always getting shafted in the US tbh…
It’s anti-Italian discrimination

Nintendo doesn’t want to raise the specter of association with Luigi Mangione. Heck, I bet they’d advocate for this, and would rename Mario’s brother if they could.
Bring back Green Mario
You are drastically underestimating how much Nintendo loves to sue.
Also, Nintendo’s late CEO Satoru Iwata famously took a massive (50%) pay cut during a tough time for Nintendo, instead of laying off employees. So…
hes the DLC.
